Hello! I am Kaivalya Rawal, an undergraduate student of computer science, and an AI enthusiast. For the next few months I will be working for the Insitute of Artificial Intelligence, at the University of Bremen, on the PracMLN project. This will be done as part of the Google Summer of Code Programme, under the mentorship of Daniel Nyga - the creator and maintainer of PracMLN.

The project abstract can be found here on the official GSoC website, and here is a link to my proposal. It remains to be seen however, how the goals of the project change over the summer, and what new challenges appear along the way.

I shall try to document my work over the summer here. The purpose of this exercise is two-fold:

  1. To document the lessons I learn and work I do, and also
  2. To serve as a reference for future PracMLN contributors - who can learn from the many mistakes I will be making in the coming months.

If you are one of these people, and are looking to learn more about PracMLN and contribute to the project, I hope you find this material useful. My technical proficiencies so far are mostly in Python and basic C programming, although I have used Cython a few times before. The material here is presented from this standpoint, and therefore should be adopted appropriately for different PracMLN developer contexts.

Cheers!
